Am I The Only One Who Hates Working From Home?

I hate you
I was much happier before - a form of expression that is coming straight from the guts.
The day goes by and you are just sitting their on the same spot with no clue whether you are done for the day or not(even if its beyond your work hours). While I beg to differ from the ones who advocate it but have you thought...

  • How It Leads To Unfulfilled Tasks?
How many times have you sheepishly asked someone to repeat a point because of the bad connectivity? Some of you might not want to bother someone for repeating something they already said twice. Wasn't it better to just book a meeting room and get a consolidated briefing in 15?

  • You Had A Life Before This?
The work never ends. People know you have a computer and all your data's right there, so surely you will be able to knock this project out at 9 in the night. Shutting your laptop and leaving the work space creates a healthy work boundary. I remember telling people at work "Let's just hope for a quick day end" but here you are unsure all the time.
  • How It Kills Communication?
Everyone likes to reach out on a personal level. They not only like to be heard but to be seen too. People take you on a face value and that does make a difference. For example, isn't "Morning Team, I got stuck in the jam for 1 hour to reach to work" better than telecommunicating just "Good Morning "name" so lets get started?
Even though you receive a zillion emails, your calendar is all caught up, you are still talking to your computer. It's self isolation gone to a new level. REAL LIFE INTERACTION is must!

While the tasks that are meant to be done and change is the only constant I realised jotting down your pet peeves takes less time 😛
This blog is in no way lending support to the cribbers out there but just laying stress on the fact that it's okay if you are not enjoying work from home. Things take time and it will be a the new normal in a matter of few months but till then try to find positives in things around you.
Stay Happy, Stay Motivated 💪
