This place is an LA icon. What a wonderful way to see the city! It is amazing that this place is free. It is a great park and the observatory is nice. The place provides a great view of Downtown Los Angeles, The Pacific Ocean, Mount Hollywood and the Santa Monica Mountains. Come during the day if you want to see the Hollywood sign. You can hike up to the observatory or take the easier option of driving up to it. Driving up here got me excited. Parking although depends entirely on your luck! The planetarium opens around 10, so I couldn't get to visit the observatory from inside as it was too early in the morning (It's a big miss I know ). I can bet it must be more beautiful at the night so, try to visit the observatory at night. If you're into science and astronomy this place is meant for you. Phone's rarely have a reception up there but there is a free WiFi facility. Make sure you bring a good camera if you like Photography. Go explore and Enjoy!
