VIDEO OF THE WEEK: THIEF

"You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don't give it the power to do it's killing" Augustus Waters a.k.a Gus.
It's really nice to see a person transforming from a delightful character to someone who is so unaffected by emotions. Like at one point you are so tender and at the same time so Savage.
I'm talking about Ansel Elgort, the young star of the films like The Fault In Our Stars and Divergent who released his very first Music Video named Thief last week. No, he's not some bank robber or burglar, but a dangerous person who's gonna leave you shattered. Drama is essential for popstars these days.

I'm glad how artists like Weekend and Ansel himself, use the Michael Jackson inspiration in the right way. You'll see a seed of the music from Smooth Criminal in the song. The beats are catchy and his voice is magic. Moreover, it was kind of a family affair for him, the video features Elgort's long time girlfriend Violetta Komyshan and the song was created with his brother Warren Elgort, which is also a reason why this video appears more personal and real.
Their chemistry is surprisingly beautiful, you know getting all sexy in the tub." She's the ideal woman,” he says. “There's no one else I'd rather watch in the video, but she also ended up doing a great job. She obviously really likes me, so she's able to be seduced by me.” Less than 30 seconds into the video you'll see Elgort performing shirtless Push-ups wearing only brief boxers, hats off to his commitment towards his body.
What adds up the spark to the music video is its eighties themed dance moves, leather jackets and the Fuchsia lighting and his Lip Syncing obviously. You just can't avoid them. With lyrics like  I've been living in the darkness, Shadows in my apartment, Heartless, Taking love just to pill it on my parchment, Next page and I'm out againit is definitely an ode to the F*ckboy Habits. You can listen to his voice touching all the low and high notes in the chorus  call me a thief, There's been a robbery, I've left with her heart, Tore it apart, Made no apologies. After dropping a single titled "Home Alone"  last year in July, this is his second song with a proper music video. This is actually quite good.
Apart from good acting skills and the singing talent, he is also DJ-producer under the name "Ansolo". He's taking this music thing very seriously. "I had created a character while writing and producing this song that was the thief. I couldn't wait to bring him to life in the video" he told Rolling Stone. You're one multitalented superstar. ✌
